Eravikulam National Park

Idukki · Anamudy (Munnar WL) · 2 packages

Eravikulam National Park, set high in the rolling shola grasslands of the Western Ghats near Munnar in Idukki district, is one of Kerala's most celebrated protected areas. Crowned by Anamudi, the highest peak in South India, the park is best known as the last stronghold of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a mountain goat that grazes its steep, mist-covered slopes.

The park is famous for the once-in-twelve-years mass blooming of the Neelakurinji, when the hills turn a sweeping shade of blue-purple. Managed by the Kerala Forest Department, it offers guided eco-tourism visits along the Rajamala trail and nearby excursions such as the Lakkom Waterfalls, making it a rewarding destination for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
