About this experience
Chokramudi is a popular trekking destination in Munnar known for its breathtaking views of tea plantations, valleys, and mountains. It's one of the highest peaks in Munnar, offering a challenging yet rewarding trek for adventure enthusiasts. The Chokramudi trek is considered moderately challenging due to its steep ascents and descents. The breathtaking views and serene atmosphere make it a worthwhile experience. The Kerala Forest Department offers a trekking package as part of the ecotourism program.
Please note that this is not a beginner friendly trek- while it’s short (6km total turnaround), the incline and terrain are rather demanding and if you’re not a regular hiker or unfit, this will be very try challenging.
Do note that the guide is only available either at 5:30am or 9am, as they conduct the trek in shifts. You can go without the guide as well.
There is direct sunlight and minimal foliage on the route so carry cap, wear sunscreen and take plenty water and snacks.
